Robin Milford Reports from the practice on July 2nd
14 ringers at tonight’s Curdridge practice! 3 family visitors, plus ringers from Curdridge, Botley, Netley, Wickham and Titchfield. We rang call changes, plain hunt triples and major, Grandsire and Stedman triples and Bob doubles. Cambridge on the front six didn’t quite go, though. Thanks to everyone who came – lovely to have all eight going on a Monday night.
Tuesday this week is once again the monthly 8 bell practice at Holybourne from 7:30 – 9:00am. It proved to be a very useful practice last month, so please do consider coming if you want to improve your 8 bell ringing. Plain hunt on 7 upwards catered for.
Sundays: We ring every Sunday mornings at 8:50am to 9:20am. We only ring for evening services on special occasions, and then usually there is a quarter peal attempt, but visiting ringers are welcome for morning ringing always.
Practice: Our practice night is on Thursdays, 7:00pm – 9:00pm and visiting ringers are always welcome to boost our practice.
On a practice night we ring rounds, call changes, Plain hunt doubles and triples, Grandsire doubles and occasionally Grandsire triples. We always aim to ring up and down in peal, usually 4 at a time, or the front 6.
Practices at Brading are always very busy and we have a very young band so expect things to be noisy.
This Tuesday is the monthly 8 bell practice at Holybourne again from 7:30. Ringing from plain hunt on 7 upwards. It would be good to see some new faces if you have considered coming along, as we’re going to be a few regulars down this month.
