Portsmouth Cathedral to host National Twelve Bell Striking Contest Eliminators

Portsmouth Cathedral is hosting one of the National Twelve Bell Striking Contest Eliminators on Saturday 23rd March.

Both Portsmouth Cathedral and Hursley bands have entered this year, so it would be really lovely for members of our Guild to come along and support them.
The contest is a great opportunity to get together with ringing friends, enjoy a pint (or several!) and listen to some quality ringing on twelve bells by some world class teams.

Do come along if you can. It’ll be a fab day out!

Further information can be found on the Twelve Bell website: https://www.12bell.org.uk/

Full details for people planning on attending, along with other useful information, will be available in due course at https://www.portsmouthcathedralbells.co.uk/

Refreshments

A variety of refreshments will be available during the day. From 10am we will be serving breakfast baps (bacon, sausage, a vegetarian option), along with teas & coffees, in Cathedral House across the road from the main cathedral building.
After the draw we will continue to serve breakfast baps until midday. Additionally we will have other food options on for the afternoon, including cakes and possibly both sweet and savoury pancakes.

We will have a bar serving in the main nave of the Cathedral from midday (wristbands service only). This will include ales from a local brewery, along with other alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The bar will be cash only.

There are also multiple pubs within walking distance.

There will be toilets available in Cathedral House throughout the day.
