During January and February the inside of the Vale Church is being redecorated.
Services are being held elsewhere, so there will be no Sunday Service Ringing at the Vale Church until further notice.
However as far as possible we intend to practise as normal, but if paint or scaffolding in the tower area makes this impossible then we intend to go elsewhere. Therefore if you intend coming to our practice (and we hope you will) please contact us to check (addresses under tower details)
New Year Greetings to all!

Deb Baker spotted this gem on YouTube. Superb call changes on the bells of the Channel Islands. The notes on the video itself read:
Featuring the bells of Jersey, Guernsey & Alderney.
Devon Call-Change Bellringers Tour of the Channel Islands, April 2016: 7 towers, 5 days, 5 flights, great scenery, great company and several pints…
Footage includes rising and lowering bells in peal and a selection of call-change touches on 12, 10, 8 and 6 bells.
Our sincere thanks to Christine Ley for organising another truly memorable tour.
Ringers:
Scott Adams, Sue Ashton, Stuart Bennie, Steven Came, Suzanne Driscol, Elaine Grant, James Grant, Stephen Herniman, Tony Jeffery, Christine Ley, Mark Lovell, Sam Massey, Graham Sharland and Nicola Stoneman
Our quarter peal on 14th March as a celebration of Harry White’s 80th birthday included Horsley. Austrey, St Ignatius and St Thomas, variations which we had not rung in a quarter peal in the past. With a little poetic licence the methods and variations spelt out Harry White 80.
Have fun see what names you can come up with ringing methods and variations in a quarter. Nothing rude though!
At our practice on Monday we embraced Firsts Fortnight . First of all we rang an extent of Allestree Doubles – that’s Grandsire with Antelope bob’s and singles followed by Nick David calling an extent of Grandsire Doubles from a non observation bell. Details of both can be found on Bell Board.
