Parking for about 12 cars is available behind the church (entrance in Southwick Road B2177)
The ringers enter by the main door (with the fancy light above!) and access to the ringing chamber is up a short flight of wooden stairs and through the trap door.
The ringing chamber is adjacent to a spacious gallery where there is room to wait between touches.
Parking can be challenging: Search the surrounding streets for a space and walk from there.
Entry is through the church porch, pass the organ into the vestry. Stairs are on the right.
On Practice Nights and Sunday mornings, access to the church is via the door on Rose Road. There are no steps to access the bells and the area around the church is relatively flat. There is plenty of space to sit out of the way of the bells on comfortable seats.
Parking for both practices and Sundays is on Rose Road with a 2 hour parking restriction with dedicated disabled bays near to the church.
To get to the ringing room at Bitterne Park, use the entrance on Thorold Road. Go in, take the first corridor on the left and enter Grace Hall – the bells are then on your right. The Church is on a steep hill but the only steps are 2 steps up to the ringing area in Grace Hall. There is room to sit in the ringing area as well as space and plentiful chairs in the main room (down the steps).
Parking is either on Thorold Road or on the church car park which is located just off Thorold Road.
On practice nights and Sundays, access is by the main entrance. The church is at the top of a slight slope and there are small steps down as you go in to the church. The Hartley 12 is located to the right of the main “crossroads” of paths.
There is parking in the church car park which the main door leads into and blue badge holders can park in the car park that is on your left as you go into the church. The road to the church is off the corner by Connaught Halls on Wessex Lane road.

There is a slight hill leading up to the church with difficult tarmac path from the car park and main road as well as a “kissing gate” granting access to this path. There are a couple of small steps down into the church but access is flat beyond that point. There is little space in the ringing room but for practices there is space in the church itself to sit.

For service ringing, enter the main North Door and take the first left. Parking is in the church car park on the South side.
On practice night use the small tower door on the North side. This is locked with a keypad so if you plan to arrive late please arrange with us in advance. We park in the churchyard.
The ringing chamber is up 100 spiral stairs, clockwise.
The ringing chamber is spacious and there is plenty of room for children to sit at the table.
Assistance dogs are welcome – we are used to them!
If you find you are locked out then these are the contact details for people who may be ringing:
Welcome, from the bellringers at St. John’s, St. Peter’s and Sacred Heart, to the world of Bellringing in Bournemouth.
St John’s tuneful octave hosts practices weekly and holds a well attended 8 bell practice on the 2nd Tuesday which draws ringers from across the area.
St Peter’s has a fine heavier ring of 8 in the centre of Bournemouth. The church is an outstanding example of high Victorian church decoration which extends into the ringing chamber.
A rare ring of bells in a catholic church completes the Bournemouth towers with the light six at Sacred Heart within walking distance of St Peter’s.
Each tower has its own band and practice night but the ringers support each other’s towers for extra ringing, weddings and services so if you are in Bournemouth you will be guaranteed a ring somewhere.
