On Saturday June 10th, ringers from Wickham rang in a peal of mixed doubles at St Nicholas, Wickham, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the casting of the bells, to open the Wickham Fete and to welcome the new Rector, Revd Jane Isaac, to the benefice.
Two Wickham ringers, Greg Painter and Dave Pelley, scored their first peal. The conductor was Edd Colliss.
Revd Isaac said “Thank you everyone…your ringing was appreciated by so many people this afternoon, several of whom told me how much they enjoyed the sound of the bells”
Please, may we have up-to-dates of events on this website? I see these are still being advertised going back to August 2016. August 2017 is nearly here! Those who put them on should remove them afterwards.
Alan Buswell.
Hi Alan,
Most towers don’t have live news at a particular moment so we display the most recent 3 from the archive to give a feel to website visitors of what’s going on at that tower.
