Liberation Bells Rung to Celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Guernsey from German Occupation

To celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the island we started our quarter peal with 72 Plain Bob Minimus followed by 1200 Grandsire Doubles.

All the island’s dignitaries including HM Lieutenant Governor were at the service so we hope Sir(e) thought our Grandsire sounded Grand.

  1. Quarter peals were also rung on this day to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the liberation at the Vale Church Guernsey, St John’s, and St Mark’s, Jersey, and the bells of the Forest, and St Pierre du bois, Guernsey, were also rung to mark the occasion.
