Brighstone have been augmented and is now a FIVE bell tower! The concrete around the frame on the front three needs to cure and then the bell hanger will return shortly to setup all eight bells.
The installation went really well, with only a few rusted wheel bolts to hold things up, and a lot of hard work (and a lot of flapjacks and ginger cake) for all involved. Ringing is currently on the back five for Sunday then practices resume on eight starting in May.
Bell donated by the Society for the Preservation of Isle of Wight Church Bells being raised into place.
We will post again when all is finished and the new Brighstone 8 are ready to use. No doubt all you tower grabbers on the South Coast will be making visits to us this year. Join the queue!
As part of the Brexit process, it is proposed that visits to the Isle of Wight will now need a valid passport (!) Oh April 1st has passed hasn’t it!
