Regiment was Killed in Action, aged 34, on 1

March 1917, not far from the village of Theipval in the
Peronne district of Somme. His name is inscribed on

Pier and Face 6 B and 6 C of the Theipval Memorial. Rung
on the back 6 on Ash Wednesday, to mark the

centenary of the death of John Rice, Grandfather of the
tenor ringer.
